1969 Volkswagen Bus Rental Added in Arizona

TV and Movie Cars has added this 1969 Volkswagen Bus to its listings through the USA Movie Cars network. The vehicle sits in Tucson, Arizona, giving crews working in the state a period-correct option for productions that need a classic Volkswagen van. Producers searching for an Arizona picture car rental can now find this Bus alongside other local vehicles that fit 1960s and 1970s settings.

Spotlight on this 1969 Volkswagen Bus

The Bus carries an orange exterior and red interior. It is a three-door van body with a manual transmission and gasoline engine. The listing notes the vehicle has been a Tucson, Arizona resident since 1969 after being made in Germany and spending time in California. Its simple lines and color combination make it stand out in wide shots without overpowering other elements on set.

The Bus also carries the name Lucy, drawn from the Beatles song Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds. That name appears in the listing and gives crews a quick reference point when they need to identify the vehicle in production notes. Past work includes a role in the 2017 film Amazed By You and a 2017 Lucky Wishbone commercial, both documented in the listing details.

TV and Movie Cars and the Arizona Picture Car Market

TV and Movie Cars works with USA Movie Cars to connect productions with vehicles across multiple states. USA Movie Cars partners with state picture-car sites such as Arizona Picture Cars so that location managers and picture car coordinators can search locally before looking farther away. This approach keeps transport costs down and helps crews stay on schedule when they film in Arizona.

Tucson, Arizona serves as the home base for this particular Bus. The city sits in a region that sees steady film, commercial, and still photography work, and having a 1969 Volkswagen Bus already in place reduces the need to bring similar vehicles from out of state. Producers can review the listing on the USA Movie Cars site and coordinate directly with the network for local use.

History of the 1969 Volkswagen Bus

The 1969 model year marked one of the final runs for the original Type 2 Bus design before later updates. These vans were built in Germany and shipped worldwide, often landing in California before moving to other parts of the country. Many ended up in the Southwest, where the dry climate helped preserve body panels over decades.

By the late 1960s the Bus had become a familiar sight on American roads. Its boxy shape and large windows gave it a distinct profile that later productions use to signal a specific time period. The three-door layout and manual transmission match the factory specifications common to that model year, keeping the vehicle consistent with what audiences expect from late-1960s footage.

Arizona Picture Car Rental Uses

Crews filming period scenes in Arizona can place the Bus on a street or in a driveway to add background texture without extra set dressing. Its orange color reads clearly on camera while the red interior provides contrast when doors open during dialogue shots. The vehicle works for character vehicles in 1970s settings or as an establishing shot element in desert or suburban locations.

Still photographers and music video directors can use the Bus for static setups or slow tracking shots where the vintage shape adds visual interest. Commercial shoots and branded content often need a recognizable classic vehicle to anchor a retro theme, and this Bus has already completed one commercial assignment. Event planners have also requested similar vehicles for displays where guests walk around the exterior.
